Mission and Goal
One of the deliberate and sinister policies of the Chinese government is to deprive the younger generation of Tibetans in Tibet of a relevant and meaningful education. The Youth Education Program at Suja was set up by His Holiness the Dalai Lama to provide basic education and other educational opportunities to the youth from Tibet according to their ability, aptitude and age during their stay in India so that they can become contributing members of the Tibetan community as skilled and literate adults.
- To create multi-pronged academic and vocational education to suit the individual need of the student through regular assessment and evaluation of each student - based on age, ability, aptitude and in keeping with their plan and choices.
- To provide cultural, socio-political and value education so that they have a clear understanding and appreciation of our rich heritage.
- To provide health and hygiene education on regular basis
- To prepare them to return to Tibet after their education in India as the need for Tibetans to stay in Tibet is paramount. This must be borne in mind by every staff member in the school and accordingly educate and motivate the students.
- To provide a school management that fully understands the needs of the students and constantly makes concerted efforts to improve the school.
